G7th Ltd. is a 42 Technology venture where we have taken the project from an initial business concept to setting up the company which now distributes the product world-wide. 42 Technology was involved in all of the process including:
| • |
Identifying a market requirement and opportunity. |
| • |
Preparation of a business plan. |
| • |
Raising finance to fund the project. |
| • |
Drawing up the product requirement specification. |
| • |
Design and development of the “Performance” capo. |
| • |
Patenting in multiple countries. |
| • |
Finding manufacturing partners and managing the technology transfer. |
| • |
Setting up distribution channels. |
Since its launch the Capo has been well received and is finding its way into the hands of thousands of guitarists around the world.
Breaking into a well established market with an innovative and stylish new product was the aim of this project.
A review of the product in “Guitarist”, the leading UK publication in the field, described it as “a no-hassle solution for guitarists” which will “change the way we think about capos”. The G7th “Performance” capo was awarded full marks in every category.
The Performance Capo was short listed for the Design Week Awards 2005. Nick Campling, the capo inventor attended the prestigious award ceremony. The Capo was beaten to the winning spot in the consumer product design category by the iPod Mini.
Nick commented “An iPod winning the vote was rather predictable, but to be placed second to such a product can’t be bad! We are delighted with the nomination”.
Famous fans of the capo include Bryan Adams and Eric Clapton.
