Next generation CPV technology for solar farms

Circadian Solar is developing scalable solar systems to offer cost-competitiveness with fossil fuel electricity.

42 Technology was appointed to help design a low-cost, manufacturable collector module for use in large-scale solar farms in sunbelt regions. Our work included:

  • Improving the efficiency and reliability of existing designs and generating new concepts to optimise the solar performance and high technology photovoltaic cells. Modules are now undergoing detailed laboratory and field trials
  • Advising on manufacturing requirements to enable low cost, high volume production
  • Developing a mathematical model to take a total systems approach to the design and operation of large-scale solar farms. The model factors in all technical and operational challenges influencing the lifetime cost of energy
