42 Technology brings two more engineering experts on board
Product design and development consultancy 42 Technology (42T) is boosting its in-house electronics and industrial design resource with the appointment of two new, highly-experienced staff members: Dr Andy Gelsthorpe joins as electronics engineer and Ryan Chessar as product designer.
“We are delighted to welcome Andy and Ryan who are both skilled project managers and very experienced in working with clients to create market-winning products, particularly in the consumer and medical sectors. In the last year 42T has added eight new staff, including these two latest appointments, to help manage an increase in new business wins as well as more work from existing clients,” said Howard Biddle, managing director of 42T.
Before taking up his latest role, Dr Gelsthorpe worked for another consultancy on the design of electronics and software for innovative new products including a next-generation diabetic testing device and a satellite navigation system for walkers. He has also led several large scale, joint EU/UK government projects; carried out academic research into wireless networks; and worked alongside Koichi Tanaka who won the 2002 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his pioneering mass spectrometry work. Andy Gelsthorpe has a degree and doctorate in electronics from University of York.
Ryan Chessar joins with a background in industrial design plus specialist skills in human interaction, product aesthetics and ergonomics. He graduated with a first class degree and masters in product design engineering from Glasgow University, before starting his career with a major consultancy in the Midlands. He has designed many products including surgical robots and instruments, and laboratory testing equipment.
Andy and Ryan will both become part of 42T’s core in-house resource of senior project managers and implementers who work closely with clients and the consultancy’s extensive network of UK and international associates and partner companies. This proven, efficient business model delivers high value product developments for clients, while ensuring constant access to the best skills and development resources available for their projects.
