42 Technology's facelift for the taxi facia
In the modern taxi and private hire industry, the in-car unit is becoming increasingly important. It's the main interface the driver has with his base and is central to the impression customers form.
42 Technology worked with Auriga Systems, the world's leading supplier of computerised fleet management systems for taxi and private hire companies, on the mechanical and industrial design of the casework and data entry interface for their recently launched CT4000.
Auriga wanted a high quality, state of the art unit, with GPS for monitoring position with a robust keypad and a full colour touch screen control to meet the needs of taxi and private hire drivers. It had to sit easily on the car facia, meeting the challenges of the in-car environment, whilst being unobtrusive and simple to use, as well as being readily demountable.
42 Technology and Auriga first developed a clear understanding of the environment and driver requirements, which helped us to design a unit that is stylish yet robust with a clear user interface and is suited to manufacturing, with simple production and assembly methods.
Paul Bennett, Auriga's Managing Director says, 'It certainly makes the right impression with its stylish and easy to use design. The success of this project is borne out by the orders received in advance. We enjoyed working with 42 Technology and look forward to our next development.'
