The opportunity

We are a friendly company of ~40 employees, working in a challenging and creative environment. We are looking for a high calibre mechanical engineer to help us continue our recent growth. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in delivery of engineering projects; they will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, technically excellent, business savvy and a strong communicator.


The role

You will be a technical lead and project manager who creates value for our clients through solving of complex technical problems and the development of new products and processes. You will manage and lead creative, multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of problems. You will work with new and existing clients to develop opportunities and work with the 42T management team as part of a world class consultancy.

42 Technology has a very strong technical team, with expertise in complex electromechanical, thermal and fluidic analysis, and connected devices (IoT). Candidates must bring a similar strength in their technical domain and be an effective interface between the client and the internal project team.

About you

You will have:

  • A passion and talent for mechanical engineering and product and process design
  • A strong technical degree in a relevant subject from a well-reputed institution
  • Excellent, engaging communication skills, being able to present technical subjects persuasively, and negotiate with suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Experience of leading and managing work packages, and reviewing the work of other engineers, designers and technologists
  • Skills in structuring, planning and costing research and engineering projects
  • A proven track record of project delivery on time and within budget
  • 5yrs experience in a relevant consulting or industry field

Ideally, you will have:

  • Practical engineering experience in machining, assembly or prototyping work (perhaps from previous employment, hobbies, or university projects)
  • A keen interest in promoting the company, developing client accounts, and gaining industry sector-specific experience
