The opportunity

We are a friendly company of 40 permanent employees, working in a challenging and creative environment. We are looking for a high calibre electronics engineering graduate to help us continue our recent growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent project performance for clients; she/he will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, technically excellent, and a strong communicator.


The role

  • Your core responsibility will be to help deliver high quality consulting engineering services to our clients. To achieve this objective you will work with other project team members, including the project technical lead, to understand customer requirements and define solutions that meet those requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of electronic systems which may comprise some or all of: high precision instrumentation, control electronics, power electronics, electromechanical components, communications
  • Analyse & model circuit and system performance
  • Define test schedules and test electronic circuits and systems

42 Technology has a very strong technical team, with expertise in product and process innovation, complex electromechanical systems, thermal and fluidic processes, novel sensor systems and connected devices (e.g. IoT). The successful candidate will be able to work within multidisciplinary teams leading to outstanding technical solutions and products meeting our clients’ technical and business objectives.

We offer a competitive package including a salary of £30,000 plus bonus, 28 days’ holiday and benefits.


About you

You will have:

  • A passion for electronics engineering and product design
  • A strong technical degree in a relevant subject from a well-reputed institution
  • Experience using basic electronics test equipment such as DVMs and oscilloscopes
  • Experience constructing and testing electronic circuits
  • The ability to participate as part of a creative multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of problems
  • Full UK driving licence, UK work permit (if required) valid passport and willingness to travel internationally

The following experience would be highly advantageous:

  • Schematic design tools
  • Analogue circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice
  • Firmware development experience writing code for microcontrollers in C, Rust, assembler or similar languages
  • Interpreted languages such as Python
  • Matlab for analysing data, developing algorithms and model creation
